She'd met plenty of that type in her work, and had never been attracted to them the way she was attracted to Martin. On the surface level she'd guess it was due to their common past as surgeons, but she suspected that it was deeper than that, perhaps the same sort of foundational intellectual curiosity that brought them to medicine in the first place.
