She was definitely not the sort of person to be charmed by just any psychopathic serial killer. She'd met plenty of that type in her work, and had never been attracted to them the way she was attracted to Martin. On the surface level she'd guess it was due to their common past as surgeons, but she suspected that it was deeper than that, perhaps the same sort of foundational intellectual curiosity that brought them to medicine in the first place. A deep curiosity that pulled them both toward murder but in different directions.

She writhed, her body absolutely overflowing with sensation, driven practically out of her mind with the relentless pleasure he was giving her, until it was too much and she shoved him away and closed her legs, panting.
