Martin had found the little note on the counter when he went to make his morning tea. It was sweet and touching, showed him that she was growing attached and committed to him. He hated how much time he had to spend alone since she did manage the cafe and that did matter for appearances.

Still, it didn't keep him from ordering not one, not two, but three dozen roses to be sent over to the cafe. He was a romantic and a man of grand gestures, especially when he had the funds.

The note delivered with them read If you leave me waiting too long, I'll go mad. ;)

She had been considering hiring another employee, she's not as worried about money as she once was.

The note had been simple, very her. The grand gesture of a metric ton of roses arriving is so very Martin. She reads the note and laughs. The cafe has been dead since noon so she closes early, after getting the roses spread about the place. They will look gorgeous in the morning.

She sends a text saying she's on the way.
