She had longed for him when they could only see each other for rare, stolen hours in the institution, but she knew it wasn't the same as being the one locked up and tethered.
"Mmm," she hummed, swallowing her mouthful. "Yes. Not lately, but yes. At one point he gave me a trunk full of files from the cases he couldn't solve, so that I could take a crack at them." She cut another piece of steak. "I've solved a couple. Some of them, though...still mysteries." She put the piece of steak in her mouth.
